Roberts, M.D., began his bariatric specialty while in practice as a Family Physician. He knew weight loss was the only solution to help permanently eradicate some of his patients’ illnesses, but so many struggled with losing weight. After many years of practice, he became frustrated with only treating the symptoms of obesity and not the condition itself. Dr. Roberts opened WeightSmart MD to treat obesity specifically.

Five years ago, I was an avid runner. I would participate in at least four half-marathons and various 5 and 10K runs throughout the year. I was in the best shape of my life and extremely happy with my weight. About three years ago, I broke my ankle in an accident.
